What amazing fotos...they leave one speechless. They seem too remarkably terrible to be true. My heart goes out to all those poor folks who lost so much.
Utter devastation!! It's going to take those poor people so long to get their lives back to some semblance of order and normality.
Just horriable. Those are pictures that one can not really express how they feel over them, only to say, horriable, terriable, so sad. I will say that if i was there i would be wanting the name and number of the contractor that built that one house...thats for sure.
Biita, that's for sure. It is so amazing how the fury of mother nature can do all that damage, yet somehow leave the one house standing.
Picture #5 was published in our local newspaper and I thought that was bad ... till I saw picture #1 and #2! Oh mine, Ike is indeed vicious. I am sure the folks were flabbergasted from the damaged it had done. My heart goes out to them ...
Are those for real??? Why on earth haven't they been showing up on the news? We see fly-overs, shots that happen too fast to get a solid look at what's going on...
Now I am weeping, it's just too sad. And to read some of those comments didn't make it any better. Some people just can't show compassion at all. I feel like kicking them. Sorry.
Seeing your photos were like a punch in the stomach. What devastations! We have some teams from NC going there. From what I've seen on TV, the response was not much better that Katrina. What do you think? I'm so glad you and yours are safe. Gardengater
31 States have or are sending equipment and crews to help get electricity restored. Not only are the neighborhood transmission lines down but out in the countryside along the Texas/Lousianna state line there are over 100 of the tall towers that carry the high voltage transmission lines knocked down and almost 300 substations that are damaged. Not sure how much aid they are getting from other states in the way of food/water and other basic necessities.
Having been trough storms similar, my heart aches and weeps for those in the path of this devastation. It is almost too sureal to comprehend.
The picture that really hit me, was the cemetary with caskets strewn about. There are no words to describe what the loved ones will (when they see it)go through. Just horrible... :'(
