its a garden snake. we been trying to chase away these snakes away from my pond. otherwise they'll eat my fish. after trying to catch him, we missed him and he slid down the window side. currently as of tonite we're still watching for him.
Oh what a beauty!! I wouldn't mind if he moved into my greenhouse but I'd prefer it if he lived in our shed as he's eat all the mice!! :-D
Heh heh heh...that guy is a sneeky-pete, isn't he. I have to say though, he does look interesting. Those are excellent fotos.
I guess he found the garden a bit too cold for his liking? I didn't know that they catch fish, so I've learned something new today.
We had gardener snakes around last year too. But found one that had a frog already in its mouth. and I did have a tree frog in the greenhouse yesterday and now I'm really hoping this snake didn't get him.
The best thing about Minnesota is no poisonous snakes or spiders-we love this little guy. Gardener snakes are welcome in my yard any time. Get rid of the little critters that like to make BIG holes in the garden!!
I hated where I used to live because we had so many what we call grass snakes and pine snakes...some days it was just too much and I had to go in..When I start to miss the country....I think of the snakes and how this time of year brings them out more....I hope you catch him.....they are great creatures but I always dreaded seeing them when I was on my knees gardening...Sherry
Oh I'm with Eileen, he is a love! So is he venemous? I love the pic of him poking his head through the gap. Wouldn't want him eating my fish, but like Eileen, he could help himself to the meeces in the shed and compost heap.
Holy Cow!! At first glimpse I would have shot out of there like a bullet!! They scare me, so do mice I am a chicken and proud of it!! Deanna :-D
I would have loved to have him in my greenhouse at my old home. I had over 300 different plants and in one week large field rats moved in because we had a very cold winter and they made themselves at home. They ate everything, even the roots. I was so upset. I checked the plants, closed the door, and a week later I checked again and there were no plants. The greenhouse smelled of rat urine and droppings. I gave up right then on plants that had to be moved indoors right then.
I would not like to find that snake anywhere it is a pretty snake.I found 2 small ones in mine last fall. They scare me as these are Copperheads that I found and are very poisonious. If it were a King Snake I wouldn't mind. They are very useful anywhere you find them. :-D GO COWBOYS !!!
Hate snakes! Sherry I wouldn't have been able to get up fast enough, if I was on my knees gardening and saw something slither through the flowers. Yikes!
