i've got a small appartment (total space 45 m2) in the center of Moscow (Russia). I'm considering to move some walls. plz see actual plan & 2 options www.ii4.ru/viewer.php?id=502983plans.JPG thnx for advice. paul
I prefer Plan 2, it will open up your main living area and give it the feeling is being larger. The wall between the living area and the bedroom, where you have it ending for a doorway...are you sure there will be enough room between it and the closet wall for you to get furniture in and walk thru? How about moving the end back to make a doorway on an angle between that wall and the closet wall?
thnx a lot for a reply, Tony! sorry, I've made one notice on plans in russian - there is a beam along both walls ~0.4 meters high. I wanted to make an antresol between it and the wall (marked grey). i correced it (and your comment to widen the door, thnx a lot here - http://www.ii4.ru/viewer.php?id=262838plans.JPG
thanks a lot for an advice. we've thought of that. but first we must decide if we should move the walls
Plan 2 is still my favorite....the new version with the bedroom wall moved a little further over. Plan 1 creates that narrow hallway that is really wasted space. Without all the extra walls the apartment will be open and bright with two windows in the one living space. More walking around room and much easier to arrange furniture. Whichever you decide on, please take pictures of the makeover so we can see how it turns out.
thanks a lot for an advice! and could you comment on the current variant. it seems to me it is really bad planning as at least 5 sqr.m. is lost in the room (space between entrance to living room, kitchen and the door to the bedroom). am i right or it only seems to me? and is it really worth deleting the wall between kitchen and living room? thanks a lot paul
