Maybe he was hoping to spill enough on the ground so he could have his share. He is really a big bird. Pretty, too. dooley

We had four of these big birds in the garden today. I love watching them waddling around hoping for fallen seeds from the feeders. I've never seen one get quite so near as yours did though!! :-D

We've also had the collared doves doing acrobatics on the bird feeders. I was quite pleased with the photo as I zoomed in through the window.

My goodness! Well, I've never seen anything like that. That big thing looks so funny sitting on your feeder--why, he's bigger than the feeder is  .

Anyway, thanks for that entertaining foto. Just amazing.

He is definitely a real pigeon :D
We have feral pigeons which are a very boring pale grey in colour and not so big and then we have the large more brightly coloured Wood Pigeon.

I can understand Sherry being confused if you don't get the Wood Pigeons in your part of the world :)

Good pic GG. I have the same problem with the Woodpigeons. I feed the birds all year and the pesky Woodies are in there before the small birds get the chance. These birds are a pest in the UK. Because they eat the newly sown seeds in gardens and fields. What bird in the States are a pest to farmers?

    Well captured.
