Boy, that's a tough one. For me it is more about seasons and veggies. Peas and asparagus in the spring. Brocolli followed by super sweet corn. Maters in late summer. All the fixens for a fresh salad. a fun question pepperdude. Ron
This is a hard question, I cant answer it, I am voluntarily vegetarian most of the time, just because I love veggies, I am starting a veggie garden so I can save money because my veggie habit is very expensive.
I cant pick just one!!! LOVE corn on the cob ..peas with butter and salt .. carrots in a stew with potatoes and onions and peas and corn...beans and ham....green peppers and onions in a meatloaf....Spinach in a lasagna. Hope I didnt make you TOO hungry!!!
Any kind of pickling cucumber right off the vine! Favorite of all time for sure. I love Broccoli and califlower to but has to be raw or lightly steamed or I don't like it. Green peppers are next along with pickled Green beans, aka Dilly beans. Now I just need to srart my cucumbers early enough so that I have a good steady summer and fall crop.
i would say tomatoes having hated them all my life until 2 years ago whe i started growin my own. but then i must admit i love everything i've grown so far
Brussel Sprouts are my #1 Hi, Good Question. I've been gardening since I could crawl. Gives you a different perspective on vegetables - I think. (I have a client who works for food canning manufacturing companies. He replaces their concrete floors after the juice from the cans EATS it AWAY!) No wonder children dislike Store Bought Vegetable. My Top 4 are FANTASTIC Only After Frost Hits Them... #1 - Brussel Sprouts #2 - Kale #3 - Wild persimmons #4 - Kieffer Pears - are so tough you can crack a tooth - UNTIL frost and cold hit them. THEN they taste like sweet ice cycles. Alan
Pepperdude, you can see we all love our vegies. No one answered with just one vegie. I'll be glad when the vegies start growing!
