I'd post flowers, but all I've got is snow.

We have quite a bit of snow here, nothing vastly out of the ordinary for here, but maybe more than some are used to. So here are some pictures I took to show the snow to some friends and family members that live in less snowy places. I thought that some of you may enjoy seeing the snow, so here goes.

That small black spot next to the Ice fishing tent is an Eagle.

God it is beautiful! A winter wonderland. The depth of snow on your garden table is amazing! And what the hell is the fishing all about?? Is someone sleeping in that tent in all that snow????

The tent is a shelter where the Ice fisherman try to keep warm. They drill holes in the Ice, and set up a rigging that pops up a flag whenever there is a tug at the bated line. The Eagle is feeding on the remains from cleaning the fish.

It certainly is beautiful Tom but I don't think I'd like to suffer the cold you get there. Great shot of the eagle by the way - pity you hadn't been sitting in the tent when it came down to feed.

You definitely have more snow than we do here Tom. Oh how I'd love to see an Eagle!

The snowmobile tracks look like a lot of fun in all that white stuff, at least that is what my 5 year old would be saying, lol.

I would take some good old green about now.

Lovely photos, Tom. :D I think I could spot some snow roses here and there. I'd have loved to be close to that eagle of yours. The amount of snow you've got looks just about right. Not so much that it causes a chaos, but enough to have lots of fun with.

Nice snow fotos. Those really give a good, wintery feeling. Do folks sit in that ice-fishing tent...or do you just keep an eye on it from the warmth of your home? only venturing out once the flag is up?
Boy, when I see those snowmobile tracks it sure brings back the memories from you time in Alaska. A snowmobile was a big part of my life there for work and pleasure. They can be such tremendous fun...in some ways more fun than a motorcycle.

    Simply gorgeous Tom.
All I have to look at is brown, crunchy grass/weeds on the lawn and clear blue skies since June. Winter beauty is a wonderful change.

Looks a lot like the views around our lake, and yes it is beautiful up here in the winter. The ice fishermen here leave the fish guts out on the ice for the eagles...quite a site to see! More snow and cold is on the way so bundle up!

Beautiful pictures...I like to look at the snow but I do not enjoy cleaning it off of the driveway....I just saw an eagle when we crossed the bridge going to Appleton this morning..He was just beautiful.
