Update : Got a call on Sat, and the counter top will be installed Tues. morning. We found a new solid oak dining table and 4 chairs and I will attange for delivery of that on Monda. There is one set back though. We had a big windstorm come through on Wed. and my BIL has been busy doing roofing estimates for the past 4 days. I told him that if he could get down on late Tues or on Wed. to finish up the plumbing to the sink and dish washer, he could wait some to finish up the trim etc. People need roofs to stay dry!

The counter top is installed. Mike will hook up the plumbing this evening or Wed. It will probably be Wed. as it is supposed to rain and he can work indoors here.

Got water hooked up to the sink and dishwasher today! Everything works and no leaks so far! Will keep an eye on it for a few days, just in case! Hehehehe. It is so nice having water back to the kitchen again.

OO I do like that counter top - well worth the wait!! Those door handles tie is beautifully with it - good choice. :D Your kitchen is looking great and having running water again is fantastic. Is there much left to do? It all seems to have taken much less time that I first expected. I still wouldn't let anyone near it though if it was my kitchen - they might spill crumbs or leave fingerprints on it!! :p

He may be back tomorrow if the weather is too bad to work outside. They are saying snow showers for then. Between the counter top and the upper cabinets there will be 2 in. ceramic tiles. They are varying shades of browns. He has to install the under cabinet lights, and there is a trim piece at the top and bottom of the cabiets. Also the new trim around the doors and windows. There is also a chair rail to go up and 2 shelves. And that's about it I think.

Nearly finished then as all the big jobs are done. I'd soooo love to be having a new kitchen installed but it's nearly as good just watching yours take shape. :-D

Getting the new molding and the chair rail up today. Then all they will have is the backsplash above the counter top and a shelf below the chair rail under the side cabinets and the under cabinet lights. Oh there is also some trim that needs to go up on the cabinets yet too.

Here is a sample of the tile that will go on the wall between the counter top and the upper cabinets.

I'm getting greener by the minute!! ;) Those tiles are just what I would have picked to go in your kitchen. It's going to look smashing when it's all done. :-D
