First LadyBug of the year

    I was cleaning our winter debris last week and saw what I thought at first was a red berry. That had me scratching my head because there is nothing in close proximity of my backyard that has red berries. Then it started moving. Thankfully it stayed where it was long enough for me to get back out with the camera.

    I had found my first 7-spotted Ladybug of the year. Hopefully she has babies tucked away somewhere out there.

    I hope she has plenty of friends around to help her gobble up any aphids that pay a visit to your plants. :stew2:

    Spring must be near!! I think I will buy a bag of lady bugs this year to help my roses :D Has anyone else tried this?? My mom tried but they all ran away from home ;)

    I like them lots and some years they are all over my yard all over windows and doors in the house.I'm not sure why.

    All my insects, butterflies, worms, etc are referred to as she. It's not like they are insulted by it. ;)

    I love ladybirds (as we call them over here :-D ) They are the gardener's friend. Haven't seen one yet, hope we will have plenty this year, they were in short supply last summer.
