I will be sending good cyber vibes your way. It takes courage to quit. I am glad that you have managed for to stay tobacco free for six days. Winning the car will be a lovely added bonus. Good Luck.
All the very best wished to you on giving up smoking, I gave up a year ago and it is not easy, I did not realise how addicted I was until I tried to quit, if it wasnt for nicotine patches and a freephone nhs government stop smoking phone number, which I rang frequently for the first couple of months I dont think I could have managed it,but did it in the end. Hope you get the car
Thanks all. I'm still going strong here on day 9 I have a package of Nicorette gum that I haven't even had to open yet! The worst side effect I've had so far is extreme thirst, which is one I wasn't even expecting.
Nine days is GOOD Hang in there, I can tell you from experience that you will have much more stamina for gardening this spring and summer. I quit in the middle of summer when it was too hot for me to garden, 100F+/38C+ and I don't go outside . That fall when I could get out there I had been smoke free for about 2 months and I could really tell the difference between how I felt the previous spring and how I felt then. I didn't use Nicorette or any of the aides either, knitting and watching movies all day got me thru the worst part. I think all the women in my immediate family got ponchos and scarves that christmas
Just passed the 7 yr mark here. Doesn't seem like it could possibly be that long, but it is. Netty, Quitting makes you a Winner already, but I'm sure your support buddy would really like that $250 in Cdn Tire Funny Munny. We're all rooting for you!!!
I think that's the reason my support buddy is always checking in on me! He really wants that funny money! 7 years? Good for you bluelacedredhead!!
It is going well thank you for asking! I haven't smoked since the day I quit and couldn't be happier. I'm not going to question myself on why it has been so easy this time... I must have really been ready to quit this time. I have been putting aside the money I have been saving too, but I'm not sure what I want to buy with it yet. I'm sure I will have no problem spending it once the garden centers open
Congratulations Netty! It was time. Now remember, if you can't decide what you should spend your newfound wealth on, there are others here from S. Ontario that I'm positive would love to help you shop for your garden. When we quit, we saved enough money that first year to take a trip to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi for New Years and then road tour around LA, TX, OK and MO before cruising back home. At what? $10 a pack here now? It won't take long to show as a profit.
