It looks like a weed that grows and spreads in my border. Don't know the name.

I believe it is a Carolina Geranium Geranium carolinianum it is a weed but then almost all plants were considered weeds at their beginning. ;)
I had moved mine to a planter in the back yard, it was growing up really nice until a squirrel decided to dig it up cause he was so sure he had buried a nut in that pot.

Mine were tagalongs in a couple of pots of Mondo grass a few years ago. If you want more you could call garden centers in your area.

Could you get a closer picture please, then we might be able to tell for sure. It does look like a weed to me too.

I have this 'weed' in my garden too. Now it has very tiny blue flowers. I let it be in places where I don't have anything else to plant.

I have it in my garden too but mine is the variety known as Cranesbill here in Scotland. It has lovely little pink flowers and we can buy them at garden centres that sell British native plants. It's considered a weed by many gardeners but wild geraniums are a favourite of mine. As long as you keep it under control it can add a nice touch to a wildlife garden.

Brohnson's query has made me curious. Is this the same plant as yours, Brohnson? I thought it was, but now I am not sure. GardenStew folks -- do you know what I have? Do you think it is what you've suggested Brohnson has? It has interesting leaves, but I have not ever seen it bloom or get anything like a bud..... (I will admit, I sometimes get impatient and pull things out, but I think it's had plenty of time to do something in other years. It always comes back too.)

Pic 1 & 2 show it about 10 - 12 inches tall, intermingling with iris. In picture 3, it is only 2 inches or so. It gets mowed regularly so it stays very low. It will spread into the grass.

    Sorry, picture 3 is blurry.
