What color goes with dark brick wall

Hi, I am trying to paint my living room wall. I have no clue what color to paint, but I don't want to leave it white. There is a dark brick wall on one side so I guess any dark color will make the room too dark

Any suggestion on the color?

Lots of colors could look great in your room. It really depends on the look you want. If you love the brick wall and want to accent it, I'd go with a green (opposite colors add attention to each other). Maybe a contemporary pale olive color. Then put a photo or collection of photos on your brick wall tying in the green. I'm personally imagining lonely evergreen portraits sitting in a sea of fog.

If you'd prefer having your brick wall blend naturally with the rest of the room, go with the mortar color, a light gray, or hue that matches the bricks but lighter in shade.

You are so lucky to have a brick wall inside. I think they look fantastic.

My bed room has walls of brick and peanutbutter (berh paint color). The combination is great!

 

You can paint 3 walls with subtle colour and highlight the fourth with a darker shade. Looks great.

 

Some darker red shade use to look nice, but not too dark.

I would suggest a neutral sand tone... Nothing with pink undertones though. The red brick is a statement in itself, you would not want to subtract from this
I am in the process of designing a home with red brick in the living room as well... Here's a pic of the wall color near it (prior to final completion of all fixtures/furnishings). I decided to accent the brick wall with some color (in this case blue and copper).

Color selection is very much important while interior designing. There should be a harmony among colors chosen.In order to make the brick blend in more and fade into the background you should choose neutral colors in the same tonal range for connecting walls.It will not only allow the brick to blend but it will also create a more unified whole.
