Hello Everyone, My sister gave me an old outside bench, But it needs a new paint job, What I need to know is can I seal it with polyurethane? Will this keep it safe all summer? And then ill put it up in the winter. What do you all think?
    Thank you Margie :stew1:

I've used polyurethane on several pieces of furniture and been happy with the outcome. It takes several coats, but the water based types are fairly quick drying. I am partial to the satin finishes for a more natural wood look, but that is definitely a personal decision.

I even made a wooden counter top and used the polyurethane on it. It has held up well.

    Help bench problems

Hi Gang did you all see my bench in my garden? It was that old yellow and messed up , Ok then I painted it that country red and put stencils on it, Do you all think it looks ok to set in my garden? or is it way to bright. It looks better than it did but it still isn't what I wanted.I thought about redoing it but I don't know. Whats you think?

I think it looks wonderful. What a nice paint job you did; I especially like the little lady bugs.:-D It should make a fine edition to your garden.

I really like that red with all the gardening themed stickers. A really lovely piece of furniture now that you've painted it Margie. :-D

I agree. It's adorable and will be a nice addition to your garden or porch. Very nice to have a hand designed item there.

Wow - fantastic job with your bench :stew1:

I think it is a great statement of fun as its bright and I love the bugs etc. Personally I wouldn't change it - your garden undoubtedly will have lots of color in it so its likely that it will compliment the overall look.
