Planted Lupines last spring. They grew fine until shortly after their first blooms. Now the leaves are all droopy, and some of them have dark rusty spots on them. I've coated them with fungicide/insecticide on numerous occasions. I even moved one of them, thinking it didn't have enough space to thrive (it's doing the worst now) I thought maybe they weren't getting enough water, so I've been drenching them. I'm about to start depriving them of water for awhile, to see if overwatering is the problem. Does anyone have experience with growing happy healthy Lupines?
I forgot to mention, I've been cutting off the droopy shoots... I was thinking it would help direct more flow to the healthier shoots. :-?
I am not sure about their life cycle where you are but down here in Texas they are a spring wildflower that dies out shortly after blooming and are usually gone by early June. Even when planted in a garden setting they do not hold up much longer than that. Toni
