They say things come big in Texas and they might have been talking about the front porch. It's 84 feet long and faces the south west. It gets lots of hot afternoon sun. Figuring we needed some shade of some kind, I planted morning glories. I've posted pictures from the outside. While we were sitting out there this evening a neighbor dog wandered through the yard. dr hollered at it to go home. The dog looked so confused when it couldn't locate him. We found we have a privacy screen as well as a sun screen. We can see out through small areas but no one going past can see in. We took some pictures from inside to show what we see.
Three are looking from southwest to northeast and one is looking the opposite direction.

See how shady they make it. Generally there is a breeze so it's cool to sit out there. Chance doesn't like it much because she can't find enough holes to see out of it. She tries to make space and it told not to mess with it.

I have pole beans planted on one end and cucumbers on the other. They are doing well as you can see here.

wow, your privacy screen is sooo cool. Michigan is so far behind. I'm just getting ready to put my morning glories in along my fence that I planted from seed. Hope mine do as good as yours.

Those morning glories sure made a wonderful privacy screen for you. When did you plant them? I can't remember, 3 months ago?? They sure grow fast and thick. Very nice, dooley.

I'd love a porch like that, but for winter use, and with glass panes in it. :D You did good when you decided to plant morning glories, it's really fantastic the way they have covered the whole area.

What an excellent result, Dooley. It surpasses my expectations by a mile. That is really a perfect screen and I can well imagine how cool and airy it must be.
The foto makes that front porch look like a long hall in a castle. The blooms that you get are just icing on the cake. Well done, you!

There is only one drawback. My wind chimes have disappeared and so has the hummingbird feeders. dooley

That's a great looking porch! I had to laugh about the morning glories. Around here they're an out of control weed. No one would intentionally have them!

Weeds are only flowers or plants in the wrong spot. It is not legal to plant morning glories everywhere. They do work here though and do a credible job of making a nice sun/privacy screen. I have always liked morning glories myself. dooley
