Can someone please help me out. Im designing my nursery with furniture I've found. Ive found a white crib that I love, and a changing table (in espresso) that I like as well. Can someone give me advice on how to bring these two pieces together? Thank you ! Rebecca.
Here's an idea: Purchase all other furniture in espresso. This will help anchor the room because it's dark and the crib will now be the focal point. If there's no other furniture being purchased right now, then add a valance that at least has brown in it. Do a combination of brown and white in the art work. If you are doing a mural, incorporate espresso in the design. For example, paint several hot air balloons and the basket portion can be in several hues of brown including espresso. The baskets can have ribbons tied around them in various colors to brighten the up. For something less permanent, mount a collage of colorful artwork, three on top and three on the bottom, using all white frames, with white mattes. Include brown in some of the arts content. It's really about balancing those two colors through out the room, as well as including some fun baby colors. I can give you a suggestion on wall color, if you tell me what color you know you don't want, what you are leaning towards and if it's a boy or girl. One other thing scubadooii, check out wall decals They are so hot right now! And they are easily removable. Apply the same principal of making sure espresso is in the design for balance. Thank you , Thank you, Thank you !!! We will not find out the sex of the baby What are your thoughts on a real wainscoting (painted white) maybe espresso wood blinds? and the top portion of the walls painted in a brown (lighter than espresso)
Im not really leaning towards any color, pretty open, although dont want pink or boy blue, iykwim I was thinking of finding bedding and pulling a color from that. http://www.serenaandlily.com/Bedding/Be ... -Piece-Set or http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?li ... d=25254074 Just some ideas, not really set on any of them.
Hey, I like all your ideas! I like the Dylan bedding set. Is that a tan color along the border? That would tie in with your idea of painting the walls a lighter brown. Nomadic Desert SW6107 by Sherwin Williams is a beautiful color. If you want an alternate paint color, try Celery SW6421 on the walls with a little in the bedding. It's a fresh organic color. Try mounting the chair rail with wainscoting below, higher than average. Perhaps 48" or in line with the top of the crib. Painting it in a semigloss would be helpful when cleaning up little finger prints too. I can definitely see that. Blinds can be either white or a walnut finish.
Yes, i think the bottom border to the bedding is tan color. Thanks for the color suggestions. I actually picked up the color swatches from Sherwin Williams. I really like the celery color. Its going to be a few months but will send pics of the finished product ! Thanks for your suggestions !
I like the contrast and anchor idea, but really, brown? This might help you out: When it comes to interior design there's nothing more fun than the opportunity to create a child's room but it's also important that it functions for their needs as much as it needs to seem fun to the child. I start by asking myself (and the parents) a few basic questions: More here: http://www.hamptons.com/Home-A...s-Room ... Space.html
