Yes, the top one is Dwarf Pink Ruellia, I have some other plants that were given to me and they said they were Mexican Petunias so I guess this is just a different speices of them. Thanks Again, flowerlady
Ruellia tweediana "Desert Petunia" http://www.killerplants.com/plant-of-th ... 031020.asp Melampodium divaricatum "Butter Daisy" http://www.floridata.com/ref/M/mela_div.cfm
It is a Mexican Petunia in so far as they are both Ruellia and are part of the Acanthaceae (acanthus Family) This one is also called Mexican wild petunia, Mexican Bluebells but were originally named (Ruellia tweediana Grisebach) in 1897 by August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach In it has been called Ruellia brittoniana, which is the taller version, since 1941 So pretty much they are either the same plant with different names or cousins or one is the dwarf version of the other.
This is the other plant I have that is a Mexican Petunia ( photo / image / picture from flower1lady2000's Garden )
