My name is Shirley and I have just embarked upon a project to "grow our own" on our roof-top garden, 2 floors up! Needless to say we suffer from quite diverse weather conditions... :~) Extremely hot in the Summer and extremely windy in the Winter. But so far we have lots of tomato plants :-D , basil, pepper, thyme and a few more. Fingers crossed, I guess! Best Wishes Shirl

What a lovely Welcome.... :0) Thanks for giving me such a lovely welcome :-D I do have a blog which is on my profile which has some photographs of my herbs and tons of toms. Currently, on the lookout for an old bath or two - as these are deep and I would be able to grow potatoes and carrots and I also want to grow PUMPKIN! So any tips on these veges would be greatly appreciated. Yes, it is very sunny in Southend at the mo - so being water monitor is number 1 duty! Speak soon,
