Help I have borers in my pumpkins. :'( Split the stems and took them out but I don't think those plants are going to make it most of them broke completely off by time I got the critters out. Any suggestions how to do this or something else to do to save grandsons pumpkins, there are several small pumpkins on the vines.
    Thanks

    squash borers

I had a bout with those and squash bugs at the same time. I put Sevin dust on my squash and withing a few days all of my bugs were gone and I have new growth and more squash producing.

Were yours inside the plant or on top? Mine are already inside the vine. Will it still work? I have some sevin dust won't hurt to try.
Thanks for the info I'm willing to try anything. cut a couple open and pulled them nasty things out and squished them but was afraid the plants won't recover.
