I found this shrub growing along our fence line. Unfortunately, by the time I had a chance to snap a picture, the flowers had mostly finished. the flowers are in a small cluster and are trumpet shaped in bloom. The color is a bright red, more crimson. Does anyone know what it might be? The canes are very tall and arch over to the ground. Thanks for any help! blossom ( photo / image / picture from cromba's Garden ) leaf ( photo / image / picture from cromba's Garden )
If you would insert the photo into your message we could see it better Actually it does show up larger in the posts than in your album and my old eyes need larger pics.
Looks like a Campsis radicans Trumpet Vine. It's forming a shrub shape because there is nothing around for it to climb on.
Campsis radicans Yup...I think you are right. Campsis Radicans. I didn't take it for a vine at first, but some pictures I looked up on the variety certainly look like what we have here. Thanks for the help! Catherine
