Well, it's been a pretty good season for the flower garden. There has been quite a lot of colour and I have tried some new things here and there as well as some old favourites.
During these days of harvest and processing, I don't have a lot of time to enjoy the blooms...not as much time as I would like; however, I do still take the time to touch and smell, albeit briefly.

The paths are getting narrower and narrower now, and some of the plants in the plots and beds are so tall, that one almost feels as if he is walking in corridors instead of garden paths. That's ok though, I like the fragrances and the feel of the leaves brushing against my arms and legs as I walk by.

There are a number of things in bloom at the present, so I will show some now, and some at a later date.

One of my favourites is the combination of Lavatera and Calendula. I put a short strip of them over to the side of one of the plum trees. Here is a segment of that strip.

This Alcea is the first double one that I have ever had. I am hoping that the bumble bees will cross pollinate these for me and give some nice combinations.

The colour combination of the Delph and that other plant that I can never remember the name of just sweeps me away. Seen at the right time of day, it looks almost surreal.

This simple daisy is a flower that I like very much.

The Echinacea with the Monarda is a sight that I like. It sort of makes me feel hot and I have to blink at the strong colour.

This is another simple flower very common in the gardens here. It is the Schilpadbloem, or Chelone obliqua
    [IMG]

These dainty flowers belong to the Penstamon type called, 'Catherine de la Mare'. The colour gradient in the blooms just does the trick for me.

...and finally the bright Geranium 'sandrine'
This is another one that almost hurts one's eyes when you look at it directly.

I'm glad you took the time to look at the flowers Sjoerd...so I could look at them too! I love that double Hollyhock and the color of that blue Delphinium. Your Geranium is a stunning color too. I'm wondering what happened to the photo of the Chelone? I'd love to see it too. Thanks Sjoerd for another wonderful trip through your garden :)

Where's the Chelone? I don't want to miss anything you show, you know. :D

Everything looks lovely. Is that pink with the Delphinium a Lythrum by any chance?

Oh that blue delphinium is to die for. I'd love to have a whole swathe of them in my garden - if only I had the space. Thanks for the lovely photographs Sjoerd they certainly cheer up my day. :-D

Hi Netty--You are very right about the missing Chelone foto. It was quite late when I posted that, I reckon I was so sloppy because I was tired. hahaha. Sorry.
Usually it's miss Droopy that gives me a little tik on the wrists for doing that. OOps as I read further, I see that she mentioned it as well.....of course.

Thanks KG & Glenda. It's always so nice to read such nice responces. I'm so glad that you liked the fotos.

Ha ha ha...Droopy, you rascal! I knew you'd catch that foto omission. :s
I think that you are right about the other flower with the Delphs being the Lythrum.

Eileen, I really like that tint of blue of the Delphinium too. I may well add a few more to these. Delphs are at their best when there's alot of them, I think.

Jewell, I am quite pleased that yopu liked the piucs and the Delph/Lycrum combination. I like that myself. I was able to get those Delphs to flower again by doing the "Chelsea Chop" and watering them alot as well as giving them some 'natural' feedings.
