We've got blooms! I managed to snap some photos before the rains started. At least I've got those to look at.

The Latvian lilies were lovely this year:

    This is "Cappucino":

    The girls' patch:

    Phlox:

    Ligularia:

That red thingie, is it Knautia? I can't remember now:

A double tall Campanula popped up from I don't know where:

    Lily "Shocking":

    And "Landini":

That Canadian lily is well over 2 meters, 6 feet this year. I think I need to measure it properly:

    Gentiana "Makinoi":

    The summer heather, "Katinka":

The hostas. This is "Frances Williams":

    "Snow Mouse":

    "Country Mouse":

    "Masquerade":

And a pumpkin. We never thought we'd actually get a pumpkin:

Wow!...Just look at that parade of colour. Your garden blooms are just as pretty as can be. All those lilies are doing so well. That dark red thing is indeed the Knautia macedonica.
Some of those little hostas look like ones that I have met. ;) hahaha...and they look like they are doing very well there.

And would you look at that big pumpkin. Cor! It's going to be a good one, isn't it. You must be proud of your kids for doing so well.
    Keep up the good work.

I hope that you will show more pics more often, Droopy--they are very nice to see.

Droopy what a display of colour you have in your garden! I especially love the Gentiana, Cappucino Lily () and the Campanula. I've never seen a lily grow to the height of your Canadian one before - gosh I'd need a step ladder to just have a look at the flowers!! :D

Well done in being able to grwo a pumpkin -it's something I've never tried as I thought it would be too cold here. Mmmmmm you've got me thinking now.......

Thank you for liking the photos. Sjoerd, I'm pressed for time and have difficulties with maintaining my internet life. :D

Eileen, I will need a step ladder to measure it. I thought it was tall last year, but it's taller this year. The pumpkin plants are from seed saved from a pumpkin that was grown on freeland in the south-west of Norway. They have longer growing seasons than us. I'm certain you can grow them, if you find the right type.

    Everything looks so good Droopy.
Cappucino Lily is on my want list and the Ligularia I will have to check out too.

Oh, I hope the weather holds so the girls will have at least one pumpkin to harvest.

Beautiful blooms, Droopy. Those Latvian Lilies are other-worldly. I love the colors, they have the metallic sheen in a photo, but in reality, I'll bet they are made of velvet. Congratulate your girls on their pumpkin! They must be so excited about that!

Thank you for your kind comments.

Toni, the Ligularia likes wet and coldish, so I doubt it would enjoy Texas, but maybe there are some that will?

Gardengater, the lilies are metallic more than velvety. I like the spray-paint effect in the middle.

Fabulous pics Droopy. Ligularia is on my wish list at the mo as they have masses of it at Hyde Hall, and if they can grow it there, I can grow it here! YAY! I love the lillies, all rather delish.

Oh man Droopy, I love these flowers. Your lilies look as though they've been sprayed painted. And you also help me identify a flower a neighbor cut for me. It has such a great smell. Phlox, oh yah, Thats one at the top of my list for next year. I'm told it'll bring in the butterflies & humming birds. Your pumpkin is much more ahead then mine is. You've done good. Great picts & color show. Thankyou

I agree with Sjoerd...you should show pictures more often Droopy! Such a wonderful bunch of blooms! Are those some of the new Hosta's from your trip?
And congrats on your Pumpkin! I can grow them here so you should be able to as well.

Thank you all! :D The "Mouse" hostas are new ones. I find them rather sweet. We're making a "Cat and Mouse" corner in one of the borders, since there are so many hostas with either cat or mouse in the name, and they're minis too, so we have room for them.

I'm still rather awestruck by the pumpkin. Our growing season is short since we've got rather cool summers but long daylight hours, so it is an experiment. This summer has been very good temperature wise which is why we're having success I think.

Oh well, wet and coldish are two words that generally do not ever describe the weather here except sometimes in Dec or January.

Wow, Droopy, you have so many neat things growing there! Your lillies are so unique in their coloring -- I especially like the Cappucino. The other one that really caught my eye is the Canadian Lily. I like the look of that plant, and that pic against the sky is just great. I sure like the Ligularia to but it's not wet and coldish here either.... Your girls must be jazzed about the pumpkin! I would be! I hoep you'll document its progress toward becoming ORANGE!!
