Oh EJ, my heart goes out to you and your family... what a sad loss of someone so young... safe journey for Jonny, yes. My prayers are for all of you.
Have just seen your post Emma. What can I say that hasn't been said. Such a young age for Jonny to go with all his life before him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
So sorry for your loss. At 20, you just don't expect them to pass away like that. If you ever need to talk about it, feel free to drop me a message.
Thanks for your kind wishes everyone. It has been a real shock to the family, as you can imagine, we are quite a tight knit lot and very close, so it has really shook us all. We are still waiting for the cause of death - it was a holiday weekend so businesses only resumed today. My Uncle and Aunt are thinking of a Green funeral for him as he was a real free spirit. This means he will be buried in, what is currently a field with a few trees, and you plant a tree on his plot, so eventually there will be a woodland full of birds and insects - a place to go and sit a while. He is on Facebook, so whenever I wander by to check, there is his profile, and his picture looking at me. What is lovely is his mates are all posting memories of him on his profile, and posting photos of him. I will post more news as and when, but again, thank you so much for your support at this saddest of times.
Condolences to you and your family EJ. It is good that your family is tight knit as you can draw strength from each other at this time. This loss will surely draw you even closer. May all of your precious memories of Jonny comfort you and take away some of the sting of grief.
Thank you all again for the lovely wishes. A week has quickly passed, but it still seems like a dream. I still cannot believe is has happened. :'( We still do not have news of how he died, however, a preliminary death certificate has been issued, and his body has been released, so there can be a funeral. In the meantime, samples have been sent to the labs to try and find out what the hell happened to our boy. He will be laid to rest in 2 weeks time at this place: http://www.olneygreenburial.co.uk/index.asp He will be 21 in February and a tree will be planted on his plot on that date. Here is a picture of Jonny taken 8 years ago, holding our son James when he was just a few months old. Jonny would have been about 11, just over half way through his young life. Don't they make a beautiful pair. ( photo / image / picture from EJ's Garden )
What a lovely photograph EJ. I know it's one your going to treasure. Olney green burial site is a beautiful spot and I'm sure Jonny would approve of his last resting place. When my time comes I would like to be buried in just such a place.
Deepest sympathy's at this hard time EJ. He was so young I am sure you will treasure his memory forever.
