Hi all, It has been raining here for 5 days now, I think I am beginning to mold. Gardening in OK is a challenge with red dirt that is full of clay. I want to be out playing in the dirt, but this stuff weighs a ton when it is wet. I am so happy I found this site. Mari
Hi Mari, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. I know what you mean about the soggy clay, we have been getting steady rain since last Friday and it will sometime next week before the clay is dry enough to work easily. But that is only if the forecast for more rain early next week is wrong. But I love this rain after the miserably hot summer we had. Do you have any pictures of your gardens you can share with us, we love pictures.
Hello Mari and a warm welcome to our forums. Here in Scotland 5 days without rain is an unusual experience for us!! Thankfully the soil I have in my grden is of a good quality and drains well. :-D
Hi Mari and a warm welcome to GardenStew from a relatively dry Sweden. Hope your rain clears up soon and you can get back to playing in the dirt! Don't forget to check out our blogs, member map and upload any plant images you have to PlantStew for all to see Details here: http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/help#3 // frank
I just posted a pic of the new flowerbed across the street at my neighbors, she started digging yesterday and this is what is left from the rain last night. The ground is so saturated that the water has no where to go. Her new crappe myrtle grew 6 inches though! new flowerbed after 5 days of rain ( photo / image / picture from marikelley's Garden )
Hi Mari Welcome to Gardenstew from southern Ontario! We haven't had rain here in 21 days. We sure could use some!
Mari You can send our rain back now. I know it was lost somewhere and it keeps showing up in the strangest places. The warm, dry Puget Sound region would like the misty, rainy days again. This sun hurts our eyes, my webs on hands and feet have dried out and the slugs are having to stay hidden. :-D Welcome to the Stew!
