    Hi Fellow Gardeners:

I hope we are all getting ready for planting season! Here in Palo Alto, CA, where the temperature is moderate in winter, I just started some snap peas for harvest in April.

I look forward to meeting new friends here, contributing information and acting to serve the broader gardening community.

Hello from Nebraska! I have to say I am a little green with jealousy; in regards to your climate! It is still very much winter here. Won't be planting anytime soon. Just dreaming for now!
    Happy Gardening!

    Thanks for the warm welcome

    Hi DaisyBeans:

Thank you for the quick reply. My kids (aged 8 and 6) love snap peas. I have both kids really involved in the garden and having them harvest the produce makes it so much easier to get them on the right path with regard to diet.

Indeed cold and rainy in your part of the world, but I must say I do like Scotland. My wife and I traveled there on our honeymoon and I have fond memories of the place and the many people I met. I named my two Labrador retrievers named Isla and Hamish which are testify to my fondness for the place.

    A nice lad from California,

Welcome to the Stew from the wintery coast of mid-Norway. :D I can't plant for months yet, so count me in amongst the envious ones. :stew2:

I'm also one of those who grow veggies for the children to eat fresh. So far we've had pumpkins, peas and carrots, but are going to branch out this year.
