Spinach, an enduring green.

I planted spinach late in the season last year and really didn't think it would grow and survive, but it has and we have a boxful of fresh green that has survived 20 to 30 degree nights this winter. It's providing us with fresh salad and just something green to look at.

 

Mmm, I love spinach. I am thinking I will grow some this spring and fall. Love it sauteed with garlic and pine nuts.

(PS I bought some yesterday in prep for the snow -- what DIDN'T I buy though!!!)

 

I do love fresh spinach but it wouldn't have survived our low teen winter this year.

 

It's a nice winter treat.

I know that it tastes good...but like you said, the green looks so nice to see about now.
