Earlier today I was trying to find some info on the yellow rumped warbler and I found this website that will tell you the approximate arrival & departure dates of migrating birds in by state and county. Since I am a novice bird watcher I printed it out so I would know when to be on the lookout for these transient visitors.

The yellow rumped warber is a cute little bird, I had only see him once before and did not get a good photo but I got a decent one today. He has yellow spots on his sides, rump & the top of his head in the spring he become even more colorful. He stayed around for several hours.

Thanks Sjoerd & Kay. I have to take multiple photos to get a good one. The birds are quick I get a lot of empty frames & tails. ;)

Gail, Thanks also for the website. Good info.
Here in Nebraska, we anticipate the migration of the Sandhill Cranes. They come through Nebraska and congregate at the Platte River. There is a real nice place to go see them in the central part of the state, they draw people from all over the world.

You take such wonderful pics of the birds. And I really appreciate it...getting to see so many different birds that I otherwise might not see. I see his cute little yellow rump! :p
