I am completely jealous of your gorgeous Greenhouse Bunkie! Everything looks so green and healthy too
thanks netty! i am truly surprized at how well everything is doing. temps were in the teens week before last. just used blanket and reemay cloth...no heat. really amazed at how much cold these little guys and gals can take.
What an absolute delight seeing your wonderful greenhouse. I just look, and look, and look. It's marvelous. I see that you have fleece there and I see how you use the dowling above the tables to make a tent-like thing. Very clever, Bunkie. Your work there is very good. Well done. That Pete is a real pistol, isn't he! It must be a comfort knowing he's there on sentry duty.
Bunkie, it is just fabulous. I am soo impressed with it all. I hope you are planning to document your continued progress. I feel like I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to see what you are going to do next. And Pete is a hoot. Very handsome too. I'm a fan.
Holy heck!!! That is some start to the new planting season. It all looks great and so healthy and green. Well done! I seen you winter sowed a lot of your seeds. That is something i used to do up north. Love it and so easy when spring arrives and there are so many other seeds that need started, those ones are allready done and well on their way. Also,,,are you feeding an army?!?!? lol. just kidding,,it looks great!
WOw!!! What a large and lovely green house Bunkie!!!I am so green with envy at all those veggies you got
i'm so pleased you all liked the pics! cherylad, i know, when i look at them i get hungry too. i figure aanother week and many will be big enough to eat...lettuce, extra dwarf pak choi, etc... Biita, this is only the second year i've winter sown and i really do enjoy it. like you said, it sure makes room for the seeds one has to plant in the warmth of spring....and it gives one a chance to 'play in the dirt' in December! and no, not feeding an army. i do can LOTS, and freeze LOTS, and dry LOTS of produce. the extra goes to the local foodbank in the next town and we also take some and sell it at the farmers market. also, we sell transplants locally. daisy, pete thanks you for being a fan! i'll for sure keep posting pics when my hands are clean... yes sjoerd, i've found the fleece to work really well. it's light weight aand warm. and the dowels was a trick i figured out to keep the cloth covers from breaking, bending, or catching the seedlings. it's a mickey mouse setup, but so far works great! even pete's doing his part...tho, i had to start rolling up the reemay cloth and pinning it with clothes pins cause he found out they were fun to run through and pull. he did jump in a flat of onions yesterday, but who could scold someone like that? instead i picked him up and snuggled him very firmly and he got the message! thanks again all! will keep you posted!
Wow Bunkie! That's quite a greenhouse full of "green". I am so envious. But you've given me loads of ideas. Thank you, thank you.
That is exactly how I envisioned you did it (with clothespins). It all looks so darned good there. It looks as though you have enough plants to feed an army.
I think I'll add my "holy heck" to Biita's. What an amazing array of plants, and all that space to play in too! I'm really envious, just so you know, even though I don't envy you your greenhouse. I would just love one for myself, if you understand what I mean. Your helper is adorable!
I have a 10x12 greenhouse that is totally empty.I was in Montana from Nov.to the 18th of Jan.I had lots and lots of plants die from the cold.I am not able to tend my yard and greenhouse as I have in the past.My legs have gone bad on me and my health is slipping away.I love your greenhouse and plants.
