The landscaper cut our five beloved Daffodils to the ground today with a weed wacker. Will they regrow and when?

Are you sure this landscaper knows the difference between grass and plants?

They should come back next year with no problems but they probably don't have enough energy to come back this year. The only problem could be that they need the leaves to die back naturally, because as they do the leaves are soaking up the sun's energy for the bulb to use for next years leaves and blooms.

Daffs will grow back next year. Since they lost their leaves, just remember to fertilize them to give them energy for next year. We don't fertilize ours much, but let the leaves die down after blooming. It looks untidy for a little while, but we like it that way. Our neighbour cuts the leaves off after blooming and fertilize them a bit more, and her daffs are looking good too. So no worries. Silly landscaper.

Eeek, landscapers like that give us jobbing gardeners a bad name. I agree with Droopy and Toni, I have seen people who have them in their lawns cut them down with a lawn mower literally days after the flowers have faded, and they always come back a-okay.
