Are these a weed, a Zinnia and a Clematis?

2 plants shown here..I dont know what either are. We'll call the one in the back Plant 1 and the one in the front Plant 2.

And finally, plant 3. I remember these guys wrapping around everything. They almost look like a Clematis but because they're everywhere I dont think they are. Will some Clematis spread and take over?

When we moved in last summer this garden looked like a jungle. My S/0, bless his heart, went out and yanked up everything that didnt have a flower on it! Needless to say, the garden looked scalped and I didnt get to see if these flowered or not.

I'm sorry but I'm no good at ID-ing without blooms unless the leaves are very special. Hopefully someone will come along shortly and be of better help.

I must say that #3 looks a lot like Clematis though. I don't think it's honeysuckle, Lonicera, but of course it might be.

 

plant #2 looks just like a zinnia!! Anyway, that's what my zinnias look like when not being eaten alive by every bug in Texas. Looks about the same age as mine too. If you want I can post a photo of mine to compare.

 

Clematis Virgin's Bower is a crazy spreading vine that has sweet smelling small white flowers in late summer. It will take over around here if I'm not on top of it. Your third pic looks similar and its spreading habit sound like the one that I have here. Here is a link to a pic.

I have to second the plant #2 looking like a zinnia... and plant #3 does look like a clem...

We were walking the dog along a nearby hiker/biker trail and I spotted several clumps of what looked very much like plant #1 and I have to say I think it is a weed...

 

I thought the first one might be a mint ?

Smell it . Rub it between your fingers an see if it has an odor.

Next time I'm strolling by there, I will pick some and smell
I sort of think of mint as a weed no offense intended, it does have its uses, but it sure can be a spready thing!

no 1 looks like a weed to me.
even if it blooms, i would be surprised to see any cool blooms.
if not bothering you, leave them until they DO bloom and then decide In or Out of your garden.
some "weeds" may still look nice in a garden.

 

Looks like stinging nettles to me

 

#2 is a zenia(my favorite plant)#1 is either a weed or mint.Crush a leaf and smell if its mint you will know it.# 3 I do not know.

 

Thank you all for the replies..sorry I've not been able to get back to reply sooner. #1 does not smell..I rubbed the leaves. I'll leave it and see what it does. #2 does look like zinnia but I planted no seed. Does Zinnia come back every year? I guess I'll leave it and see what it does also. Thanks to DB's link I figured out that #3 is Sweet Autumn Clematis. It does seed, and I found the culprit growing across the street on a fence. I'll be pulling most of that out. If it's not growing in the right spot it's a mess.
