Can anyone tell me what is the best way to get seeds from roses. Should I let them die and dry out on the bush or cut the heads off? Can I just plant the head or is that not rite? I have never planted seeds of any kind and would like to start .
Thank you for the site Pianolady. There sure is a lot to learn about roses. I had no idea of all the possibly. I have made up my mind. I'll use cuttings for now. Maybe later I'll try the seeds. When I pruned it the other day I saved 2 pieces and put them in water. We will see what happens. Proudly nothing knowing my luck lol.
Adding a little root hormone helps push it alot. Or I should say, so Ive heard. Icant grow anything from cuttings.
Propagating a Rose Well you have chosen just about the most difficult plant to propagate! Many roses have to be grafted on to a suitable rootstock in order to thrive - and grafting is a very tricky business! Good Luck!
