Here is a Nuthatch at the feeding block. The red Asiatic lillys at the front deck. And the orange Asiatics at the front deck. These are just shy of 6 ft tall. That's why they are in tomato cages.
Your nuthatch is a very handsome little bird - far more colourful than the ones we get here in the UK. I see you've clipped your fat cake feeder together too - it's the only way to stop squirrels and larger birds nicking the suet. I use snap together plant ties on mine. What a lovely show your lilies make - so bright and cheerful. :-D
Love your great Nuthatch photo! they are one of my favorite feeder visitors! Beautiful lilies I am patiently waiting for mine to bloom... we've had enough rain here and not enough sun...
Eileen, I had the door to the suet feeder wired shut with a garden tie. But the coons got to it and kept twisting it until it snapped apart. So my wife had the idea of putting the chain snap on it. That and with my taking it in every night has virtually stopped the coons. That is an extra large cake and cost almost $5. It has raisons in it and the birds seem to love them.
Great pictures Capt. We have a family of nuthatches here. The babies are startng to take the suet themselves now.
