I am making some updates to my master bathroom. We have changed the fixtures (plumbing and electrical) and repainted. I was thinking about framing the existing mirror and wondering if anyone has already tackled this project.
    Thanks for your help!

I would use molding as the frame. Many styles to choose from at Lowe's and HD. You could stain or paint it!

Some of our members have made lovely frames for mirrors using mosaic tiles. Maybe it's something you could also consider doing.

Thanks for the comments and your encouragement to take this on myself (If you only knew me you might feel differently). Usually I end up spending way more time than I think I will and wish I had just purchased something. But then again there is that satisfaction of doing it myself...I will let you know which way I go.

You could maybe even try making just a simple frame, painting it and then applying crackle glaze to it. The glaze gives the frame a sort of shabby, chic look which can be really attractive.

These ideas are great, and at one point or another, I have used them.

Which one to go with would depend on the style you are creating. I get a very different feeling from a crackled frame than a mosiac one even though both are very beautiful.

Also, If you don't want to tackle this yourself, I have often asked art students to do a project for me. They're really creative, could use a couple of bucks and sometimes can use the project for an assignment.

    Good luck!

^Indeed. A basic DIY wood frame--properly finished and painted of course--could even work depending on what kind of look you're going for. Best of luck.
