So let me start my threads with all the different things i took pics of but could not upload to my computer. Starting with,,,,,drum roll.....Winter! Okay here goes, all these pics are just our drive way, our house and my father-in-laws house, the back yard and my teeny tiny little "front" yard. This is the entrance to my front door. Do you see the snow is up under the eves where we didn't get it all dug out. On the door you can still see how high it got and we did not get all the snow off. Back yard. Pretty high snow drift. It was up to my shoulders and i am 163cm or 5'3" Remember that celler door i had to dig the snow out of to get to the chickweed plant. Uh huh. 7 steps down and filled with snow. A rips or red current bush that is almost 6ft tall. My tiny front yard. The snow is over the thuja plants the neighbor had planted and to his roof. This pic is our driveway that leads to the little driveway infront of the house. This is actually the side of my father-in-laws house that lies against the outter driveway. See those brown things,,thats a fence. The rest our road. Yeah we didn't go anywhere fast. That little building is our shed. Snow up the side of my home. My path to get of the house...lol. There was about a foot or 30 cm of snow under our feet, all packed down. The driveway light. Gives you an idea there of how high it got with snow. And Balder wanting me to come out and play. So there you have it,,,,my winter!
Gosh Biita it looks as though your got everybody's winter all rolled into one!!! I thought things were bad here last winter with snow around 3&1/2 feet in depth too. Your photographs are lovely but a bit scarey too. I can't help thinking of the hard work it must have been for you all to do the simplest of things in snow that deep. Balder seems to be taking it all in his stride and enjoying himself - he actually looks as if he's smiling. :-D
Was that more snow than you got up north or about the same? Glad you found your camera cord I am really looking forward to the other pictures.
Ahhhhh....just what I needed to see! All that lovely snow sure makes me feel nice and cool. I have to say, Biita--that is quite some snow! It looks like enough to protect anything that you would have had growing in the garden.
Fantastic! I had ALMOST forgotten about winter Biita, but it is hot today and I needed cooling off. Does this mean we will see your summer photos in the winter?
Thanks all! Winter is just something we take in stride. It snows, you shovel. lol. But you grow up with it and it is just natural to continue to do your everyday things only you are bundled up to stay warm. Eileen- Yes it can be scary, expecially when you try to open a door and it won't move. So you go out a window and hope the snow isn't taller than you are. lol. Balder loves winter. Its his favorite season i think. He see snow and the puppy in him comes right back out. He's 10 now. Toni- I'm glad i found my cord also! I was running out of memory cards. Granted alot of the pics are holidays or friends who came for dinner or visited with us, but there is other photos to post. Actually Toni, i would say it is the same. But i was on an island up there, so it is a bit warmer from the gulf stream compared to mainland up there. The wind blows continually up there and if you know there is a dip or a grade that goes downward, it will be filled up and look level. you will sink thru unless it has gone to ice. Thats also the differnce i guess, is the ice. Everything goes to ice up north, but down here its more of a heavey snow and just compacts. It is Sjoerd! I always could not figure out why some of the posters go thru all kinds of "prep" work at the end of the season. lol. I forget the rest of the world is not covered in white when we are. Tons of white! lol. Haha Netty. I did warn at the top of the thread. No no, i have pics from just yesterday i want to put up soon. Lets just say i went shopping, viking style. And i have spring photos of the remodle i did here to one of the fences and plants. Lol. i think by winter it will be winter photos again. Lol Bip. I think by winter we will all want it hot again. I know i will after a while. But i love winter. At least until spring hits and nature does not relise it. Then i get impatient.

Just a light dusting of snow then. EEEK! It looks very pretty, and very cool whilst we are sitting here roasting, but at the time, how chilly and what a pain having to dig out.
Thank you both for viewing! Thank goodness its long gone now. Summer is here, well kind of,,,lol. Still so much rain, and alot lower temps than normal. But soon to get ready to do it all over again.
Well, personally I am really enjoying looking and looking and looking at your snow photos. I miss having Rambo around still so I would love to go out and play with Balder,

We have pretty hot weather here right now +30C plus high humidity. I kinda LIKE it! We get snow 5 months out of the year.
Ooooh BRrrrrrrrr I get cold just looking at those pictures. I complain here, it is bitterly cold, but at least we do not get that much snow here. The only snow falls around here lasts just for a day or two, then it melts. (That is when we are so 'lucky' to get snow.) Winter sure brings it own challenges to gardeners.
