My mother lives in Ohio and found this growing in amongst her daylilies. She does have fruit trees in her yard and lives next to a mini-forest. Would really appreciate any help, Thanks!

They are hydrangea leaves !! I have several. If they have been cut back this year they will not bloom until next year. If they were cut back last year you should have a beautiful bouquet this year.

They come in several colors and depending on your soil PH can be blue, pink, white, violet and I am sure other colors as well. I have one at the front of my house that is blue. I rooted two from that plant for the back of the house,,one is blue and one is pink. Different soil types here I guess. Beautiful large flowers though !! Your mother should enjoy it !! I do cut mine back about every three years just to keep it from having too many old branches.
