I just moved into this house about a month ago. There is a chest high leafy green shrub I want to know what it is so I know whether I want to keep it. Let me know if you need more information, I'm not sure what you need.

Pinch a leaf between your fingers and see if it has a fragrance. I saw something similar that had a lemon like smell but can`t remember where. Not lemon balm.

It does not smell like lemon or like anything but a leaf to me really. It is starting to bloom, small clusters of small white flowers. I will take pictures of the flowers after it's done raining if I have time.

It's very pretty -- it will be interesting to see what the flowers look like too.

Well here is a pic of the flowers. They are very small, maybe half an inch or less.

I don't think so, the flowers look different. This has no scent so far as I can tell by the way.

Someone on gardenwebs said Hydrangea paniculata, looks very much like the leaves on mine. Mine isn't blooming that well yet though.
