They love the zinnias, phlox and coneflowers and of course the butterfly bush.
Oh me-oh my! Those are just the lovliest butterflies, Gail. What a blessing to have those in your garden. I could just look and look and look...in fact I think I will! Thanks for these beautiful pictures.
Simply lovely! I am so glad you had a rainy day so you could post these fantastic photos for all of us to enjoy!
Very pretty Gail. There is something very peaceful and calming about butterflys, I think. I especially like the Monarch on the orange bloom, they are color coordinated!
Thank you all for the kind comments. The butterflies bring more beauty to the garden and they love the zinnias.
Gail's butterfly photos are so awesome! So awesome, in fact, I asked to use one for project at work... a sign for a landscaping company. The customer loved it. I'll post it here if it's okay with Gail.
One of our customers, a landscape company, needed a sign designed for them. They wanted beautiful flowers with a butterfly. It had to meet certain criteria... as far as placement, size, etc. We subscribe to a photo service where we can get thousands of photos.... but none of them worked for the design (mostly just close up photos of butterflies). The timing was perfect... I remembered seeing a photo posted here that would work perfectly. So I did some looking and found the photo in Gail's Garden. Here's the sign. The customer is very pleased with it. yardbirds sign ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) The sign goes on the side of a bus. Once we get an actual photo of it... I'll try to remember to post it here. Thanks again Gail for the great photo!
Butterfly Release in GA Gail, love your butterfly pics. I showed them to my wife and she said there will be a butterfly release in GA. She has no other details but she was near Columbus GA. when she heard this. Have you been to the Butterfly Center at Callaway Gardens http://www.callawaygardens.com/gardens/ ... enter.aspx Since you will be in Atlanta these gardens will help you unwind after the festivities are over. It is worth the trip if you have not been. Take care Jerry
Gail what excellent photographs!! :-D I wonder if you would mind if I used some of them as background papers for my greetings cards? I think they would look so lovely with maybe one of the butterflies DeCoupaged on the front of the card too. If you'd rather I didn't then just say and I'll simply drool over them every time I come in here instead.
