This is the store building with a thatched roof. This is a display of some of the finished wooden shoes. This is a sign of the tulip farm This one is of the interior of the store and the tables of the Delft Ware that was for sale. A windmill that was in the gardens.
The couple in the first picture are Richard and Ruby from Georgia. Our friends that came up to visit and go off on a weeks tour.
I've seen lots of places just like your photographs but they were actually in Holland in the Netherlands. Your Holland looks so familiar to me even though I've never been there. :-D
Great photos! When we lived in upstate NY, most of our neighbors were of Dutch heritage. The local church had a bus trip to Holland, Michigan yearly. Everyone seemed to love it, and now I see why! What a great place to take your Georgia friends. Next year Paris, Texas?
The month of April is the time to visit. They have a gigantic tulip festival for the whole month. The campground where we stayed said that they were already sold out for the whole month of April. And this was in Oct. She said that most Hotel want you to get reservation 1 year in advance.
Amazing, a little slice of the Netherlands, not in the Netherlands!! Love the clogs and the windmill.
I am really enjoying seeing these fotos, Capt'n. Tell us about what was in that Garden center. It lookeds like you enjoyed your two days there. Thanks again for showing your pics.
There were a few souveniers for sale. But mostly it was huge boxes of tulip bulbs for sale. I have never had much luck with tulips so didn't buy any. My soil is mostly white clay and it is very hard to grow very much.
