Love 'em!!! and I love the new Garden Junk forum. This place just keeps getting better and better and better...
It's easy to miss if you have never seen one of the totems before. Take a look at the second photo, see the pipe inside the bottom piece of glassware...that's the copper pipe that has been driven into the ground and I think its adhered to the inside of the vase with the silicone. She uses it to keep the totem from falling over.
Lurex? someone posted somewhere that they prefer to use something called Lurex as an adhesive. What is this and where can it be found? Barring that, what brand of silicone do you use?
Home Depot and Lowe's have all sorts of adhesives that will work for out door projects. You can browse thru what they have and find one that works for what you are making. I use Gorilla Glue and Liquid Nails, depending on what the project is.
I'd forgotten about this thread. And now that I look through it again, it inspires me to try to make one!
Those glass do-dads look great! Mine will be an electric lamp, so no water with that ! I will post it as soon as I can finish it. Did you drill holes in that lovely glassware, or just glue them together ? I think you mentioned putting them on copper pipes up the center? My doorknobs and the base already have holes in them, so I won't have to worry about breakage.
