Those daisies may have taken a while to bloom for you but, oh boy, were they worth waiting for!! The red and pink are a welcome sight at this time of year. :-D

Thank you to all 3 of you. When I planted the daisies an the red salvia I was not at all thinking of how they would look together. In fact I did not even know the color of the daisy. So this has been such a wonderful suprise and I am really enjoying it while they last.

Does anyone know if the daisy and red salvia are perenial or not?

That is a very pretty color combination, good job

I think that is a Symphyotrichum oblongifolium (Aromatic Aster) it blooms in the fall from about Aug to the first frost and it is a perennial.

Depends on which Salvia that is as to whether it is perennial or not. Do the leaves have a light pineapple scent? The Salvia elegans (Pineapple Sage) is late summer thru fall bloomer and is perennial.

It may be a type of aster but i was told it was a daisy by the lady who sent it to me. The salvia bloomed all summer long so is likely not the elegans also.

Asters and Daisy are often mistaken for each other, the leaves may tell the difference tho.

The Salvia might be an annual then, guess that will be a wait and see event ;)

Very pretty combinationation. I think your daisies may be Twilight Pink Daisy Chrysanthemum. Here is a link to a photo.

I have that type of red salvia in my garden...the hummingbirds love it. It is an annual but you can save the seeds or they sometimes self-sow.

I tell you that is a very nice arrangement. I love Daisy's. They look really nice with the contrasting savlias.

I once saw John Wayne say: "Well, kid, you better watch out or you'll be pushing up daisies"... So for me it was enough to give me a fright for my entire life (which is why I never planted any)!

    :-D

I was out looking around the yard and these daisies are of course looking rather awful right now but it will be nice to see them come back to life come summer and then to see them bloom again in the fall. I will remember the red slavia also and plant some more in the summer time around these. I will also have a lot of morning glories in the back ground growing up the wall.
