Hoping

    I saw this pileated woodpecker (male) digging out a hole high up in a tree. I'm hoping that it sticks around and has a mate etc. Would be great to get a sequence of shots of young ones etc. I have had a female feed young on the sundeck this past two years.

    Congratulations on your new neighbor! ;) My folks have one that tries to drill into their stove pipe :D Makes Mom nuts, poor Dad can't hear it!!

    I do hope the male in your photograph has a mate and sets up home in that tree. Fingers crossed for some more of your exceptional shots when/if youngsters appear.
