Some of the leaves are purle. I found a couple of this in my yard today. are these weeds? ( photo / image / picture from Tina's Garden )
I am definitely not the one to ask on this, but leaves look like related to dandelion. It's Sunday, but someone will wander in and figure this one out
I agree with Nichole that it does resemble the toothed leaves of a dandelion. I'd be inclined to get rid of it.
I'm not sure, but those don't look like any Dandelion leaves I have seen in my yard and I have never seen purple ones. It may be a relative though. Dandelion greens ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )
Lol, I keep google imaging keywords like 'purple toothed weed, weed, weeds,' etc....all I keep getting images of are various pictures of pot plants!!!
How about this? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/107190/ "Purple volcano" sage, Salvia lyrata.
I have a LOT of dandelions too and these dont look like them. These does look like the Salvia Lyrata. Thanks all!
That's quite attractive. Glad it did not turn out to be a 'weed.' Are you going to cultivate it then?
Well, I am not good with IDing, but that looks like a weed to me. If that were to grow in my path, I'd pull it out! Than again, dandelions are weeds to me too.. and I dread the view of yellow blooms... knowing they'd be followed by lots and lots of parachutes (seeds). Sometimes I make it my business to just chop the yellow blooms if I don't have time to pluck the entire plant... I am getting off-track. Anyway. A WEED - TO ME
