    I love hot peppers! :D

I thought this would be a good thread to show on-going pics of hot pepper plants and fruits, for chili fanatics like myself. I grow all of mine from seed.

Here's a special one in my aero-garden, just now setting buds, called "Jigsaw". It's a variegated tri-colored variety with green, white, and purple leaves...

Here's some kind of dark purple mystery variety growing in a pot in my south window...

These are "Little Blue", also in my aero-garden...

Please feel free to discuss and show your hot peppers too...

How unusual. Almost look like ornamental peppers. How is the heat level? I plant a couple of types every year. Mostly jalapeno and cayenne varieties. Have had habanero past few years but left them off this year in favor of red and orange bell peppers.

The 'little blue' type are ornamental and edible. They're ripping hot too.

Not sure about the others...haven't tried them yet.

Here's a type called "Chilly" chili, that's just putting on some fruits recently...

Another variety I enjoy is called "Black Pearl". This plant is just starting to set buds...

Great looking plants. Anything hotter than cayenne or tabasco is a bit warm for me. LOL

    Thanks. ;)

Here's an extremely colorful type I grew a couple years ago indoors, called "Masquerade". It's medium hot...

Anyone ever grown "Bhut Jolockia", the hottest pepper in the world?

It's a great container pepper plant even, and very ornamental with a high yield. I have seeds.

I also recently got seeds for "Filius Blue"...a plant that has fruits that are a purple/blue color. The leaves are purple/blue also. I have some germinating today.

I kind of have a thing right now for white peppers, so I ordered the seeds for "White Habanero" and some other white types from other countries too. I can't wait to experience them all.

This is one of my favorite hot peppers of all-time, called "Aurora"...

This is another favorite (one of the hottest chilies in the world!) called "Fire Cracker". I grew this one from seed also, a couple years back...

It was an indoor plant and it was absolutely covered in fruits...

Here are a couple of my other favorites ("Chilly" & "Explosive Amber") before planting them out...

those are so beautiful! thanks for sharing! I was planning to try some peppers this year up at our summer place where the weather gets pretty hot. I'm planning to ask at the nursery near our place to reccommend a good variety - wish me luck!

    Thanks, guys! :-D

You could easily say I'm addicted to hot pepper plants. They're ornamentally beautiful and I love to eat 'em too. I enjoy the ongoing color they provide...

I have grown Bhut Jolokia, but not for myself. We have friends from the Indian sub-continent and they love them. I stuck a toothpick in the flesh of one and touched it to my tounge. In the vernacular, 'I like to died'.

    Hot peppers

Germinator, your peppers are awesome! I might just grow them to look at.
I have Jalapeno, Hungarian and another type I am not sure, maybe Habinaro? Also the usual green sweet peppers and again, I am trying to grow red sweet peppers. They nevercome out red for me.

    Thanks, you guys!

Yeah you don't even have to like eating the peppers (although I do) to enjoy growing them for their ornamental beauty. They are just so interesting and unique compared to flowers, but just as pretty and colorful. I am always sure to save seeds from my fruits so I can share them and so I'll have the means to begin fresh plants each year.

Here are more shots of my "Little Blue" fruits...
