I have this small plant popping up in my woodlands garden. it has foliage like Crocus and tiny white cluster of pretty flowers. It's pretty so I keep it, no pull. what is this? ( photo / image / picture from cindjo717's Garden ) moderator's note: added a more descriptive title to topic
I think it is Star of Bethlehem(ornithogalum umbellatum), an early import from africa and eurasia and is a poisonous plant. It has spread to the wild in North America.
I have Starof Bethlehem (as Carolyn said) growing in my own garden cindjo. They are related to onions and garlic and can be quite invasive. However, I like them and don't mind them spreading around the base of my garden arch. Be careful when handling them as they may cause skin irritation.
I have some too and they only bloom in the spring. When the weather warms they shrivel up just like a tulip or daffodil :-D
Thank you all so much for the replies.. I am so glad that I know what it is now.. I found it in the front of my house in my woodlands type garden. It is really pretty and dainty so I will not get rid of them.. They seem to be fading now because it's getting hot..
