Butterfly on Sunflower ( photo / image / picture from AAnightowl's Garden ) A butterfly on my sunflower. It just opened up yesterday. Banana Lilies ( photo / image / picture from AAnightowl's Garden ) My 'banana' lilies this week. I do not know their latin name. birdfeeder ( photo / image / picture from AAnightowl's Garden ) The birdfeeder in my orchard. It is an old jungle gym with my grapevines growing on it. I planted some lilies and irises under it, and hang my birdfeeders here. The birds love it. Leopard Froggy ( photo / image / picture from AAnightowl's Garden ) A little leopard froggy hiding under some daylilies in my garden.
You've got a very nice area there. I love the butterfly on the sunflower. Is the frog a permanent resident in your garden? Aren't your banana lilies also daylilies? They look like the old daylilies we inherited from the previous owners of our house.
I suppose the banana lilies are daylilies. I just thought perhaps they had some technical name too. I got them at Walmart a few years ago. I have lots of leopard frogs in and around my yard, so I guess he is a permanent resident here.
My boys recieved the jungle gym for mowing a friend's yard one time as kids. They each appropriated a section of it and refused to share it. I refused to put it up until they would agree to share it. They never did, and when they were grown and left home, I appropriated it for my grapevines that were laying on the ground. It took me two weeks to put it up, including some cut fingers when sawing rusty bolts. Then a friend gave me a bluebird house, and that was the best place to mount it... I put birdfeeders there too. I think an old swingset would also do the job. That is how I got that fancy set up for the birds and my grapevines.
I love the birdfeeding area too. I have bits and pieces of an old swing set in the shed and I have two grape vines that need a larger area, some Daylilies that need to be divided, several birdhouses and feeders that need a place to be. My husband is going to busy this fall when it gets cool enough to create something like yours. Thanks for the idea.
