If anyone could help identify the plant with the pink flowering bulbs, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. ( photo / image / picture from strife's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from strife's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from strife's Garden )
That is really cool looking!!! do you know if this is bulb? It reminds me of alium but the foliage is too broad and the color is too wrong. Or maybe I don't know that they come in red.
Good morning, that bulb is called haemanthus coccineus or commonly called here...blood lily, there is also a white one, that is a good specimen by the way!
Chocolate, we are so glad you have the answers to the coolest pictures!!! I love this plant, but have never seen it. Thanks for your knowledge. I wonder if it is available here. Strife, Where do you live? this is a great plant. I would love to have one. I assume, that this is your house plant?
Good morning Carolyn, there are some haemanthus mutiflora/fireball for sale on Ebay at the moment, and in U.S.A.hope this is allowed and hope it helps.
Good afternoon, most people here would grow them in pots so they can be taken onto the verandah to show off!But they can and do grow in the ground and they dont mind the shade.
I looked up a few of them in one of my plant books and they do get huge. About 4' for a couple of them. Now that would be awesome to have in your garden if they are as pretty as Strifes plant.
Thank you everyone for the help. =) It seems i posted in the wrong place though, Sorry. Didn't see the Plant ID link. =/ When I get some time I'll post everything else in the house. I hope you will all enjoy it all.Thank you again.
Looking forward to seeing what other unique and fabulous plants you have. This first one sure was an eye-opener!
