I grew up with a father whose passion was gardening. I have only a small spot to garden, so grow herbs and have found that I always seem to plant edible plants if I add another to my garden spot. I am very interested in both medical and food herbs, so if others have questions, would be glad to help research. Saw the post on edible chickweed, when looking for a site to join, and loved an article on broad beans from west friesland. I now know where west friesland is. Hi Karrma! Welcome to GardenStew. This site has been a great learning tool for me and I'm sure it will be for you, as well. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
A big welcome Karrma from Wisconsin. I have a great book titled; Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants (in Wild and Not So Wild Places. I think I was the one that posted about how good Chickweed is for you. I sure do look at weeds :-D differently after reading this book. This is a great site for sharing, learning, and laughing. :-D
Welcome from SE Texas. Glad you found us. There's quite a few folks here that really know their herbs. And even more who know nothing about them (like me) but do still learning about them.
Hi Karma and welcome. I have a friend who I introduced to purselane and lambs quarter.... Her kids are not so impressed with the free things earth has to offer us, but maybe, just maybe she fed them too much too often. I notice I am not as thankful when I am not as hungry :-?
Hi there Karma and welcome to GardenStew from Scotland. I grow lots of things that are edible in my garden - vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. I look forward to hearing what you have growing and how you use it.
Welcome from Texas. My garden is almost non existant right now. I do have rosemary, basil, oregano, spicy globe basil and spearmint growing. I used to have a store where we sold all kinds of dried herbs. We didn't grow them though. dooley
