    True, otherwise those initials carved in a tree 50 years ago, of yours and a sweetheart, would be found high up in the tree tops where only the birdies could see them. Or perhaps the hammock hook would be far out of reach.

    I would say true, because trees grow outwards (i.e. rings) and extend their branches each year.
