He's in the flower garden off the deck. I'm dogless for the first time in 25 years. I'm all tore up! Who'd ever think a crusty old bassturd like me would cry so much over a dog. I told him to find Lindy, (my other Jack Russell) and wait for me, I'll be along shortly. I'll be distracted all next week in Portland, Oregon with my grandson, so I should be better after I get back. Sorry folks, I guess this just helps me feel better.

    Thanks, FBG

It's so difficult to cope when a pet passes away. After all they are a member of your family and a large part of your life so there's no need to apologise to any of us for the way you are feeling FBG.
Most of our members have already experienced what you are going through now and it's hard to come to terms with. I know that, in time, your grief will diminish and you'll be able to smile about all the good times you had with Murphy but until then you have my deepest sympathy and understanding.

Have a safe journey to Portland and enjoy the company of your grandson.

I am sooooo sorry :'( This weekend will be one year since we put down our golden retriever, Briggs. I still miss him terribly and tear up at the thought of him :( It takes a while but eventually the pain goes away. Try to enjoy your trip and the time with your grandson. Portland is about 6 or 7 hours north of me. Sounds like it is going to be a beautiful weekend. Hang in there.

    hugs
    Deanna

FBG, they really get into your heart and it hurts. Don't feel sorry for sharing your news with us, most of us have been through it too. Sorry to hear about Murphy.

We had to put our Field Spaniel, Rambo, down three years ago Aug 6 and it still hurts to let myself think about him.

Talk any time you need, getting it out of your system is the best way to heal.
    Enjoy your grandson next week.

I know how you feel FBG. My parent's dog of 14 years passed 2 weeks ago. I was abroad at the time so didn't get a chance to pat her and say goodbye.

    Sorry to hear about Murphy.

Sorry to hear of Murphy's passing. It is tough to loose a pet as they are true friends and companions. They are always there and their absence leaves a hollow place in our heart. He and Lindy will wait, tails wagging.

FBG, so sorry about your dear little dog. It hurts to loose them. I lost two cats this summer, and a chicken. I have lost lots of pets and loved ones too, it always hurts to loose them. I have a spot out back where I bury my dear pets if they pass. I call it my Memory Garden. Plant some nice flowers on Murphy's grave. It will help a bit. :'(
