Gosh that's a real beauty Pat. Do the Red Lily Beetles attack it like they do with other types of lily? If not I may well invest in a couple for myself next year.

I honestly can't remember the name of the variety carolyn but I bought them from Thompson & Morgan on line www.thompson-morgan.com

Eileen, I have seen one or two lily beetles on them but not as many as my smaller varieties. I am growing these in large pots so that I can protect them in the winter just to be on the safe side.

They are approx 42" (107cm) cherylad , but I think after a year or two they could grow taller as T&M show them with a young child standing next to them, although having said that I think these growers exagerate a little sometimes :)

Wow GG!--What a looker THAT is. How long have you had it. Are you saying that you grew it from seed?

Too bad it's only hardy for zone 11 (according to that website). I'd sure be tempted to try one.

No Sjoerd I didn't grow it from seed. I bought it from T&M earlier this year. They were selling a pack of nine (three of each colour). I was a bit disappointed as when they bloomed two were quite a bit smaller and the same colour although they are quite pretty a double white blushed with pink. Maybe if I give them a feed when they are dying down this year they will all grow even taller next year.
