Any time you ask a question and the answer is going to be in a percent, you have a moving target. Ask a question that involves the whole earth and the answers vary depending on the source. At a glance the answers start at 20% and rise to 40%. No wonder rabbits can multiply. The real answer probably lies between the two extremes. The ability to gather definitive data has increased with more accurate satellite information. Mountains of data. So after an exhaustive search through........ I don't believe the 20% and judging by the way grass grows in my yard I don't believe the 40% so we are left with 30%.....of course the grass in my neighbors yard........... O.K. I can do this.....in a fraction of the time!! How about: 1/4th of the land is covered by grasslands. Jerry
